Meaning: hat-shaped small stream. Lonesome Dove (r. 1989) was a television series that was based on a novel (p. 1985) by Larry McMurtry (b. 1936). It was about two former Texas rangers who ran the Hat Creek Cattle Company situated near the town of Lonesome Dove.
